Associated Press= MOSCOW (AP) — Russia on Monday accused the West of effectively trying to use blackmail to secure a new U.N. Security Council resolution that would authorize the use of force in Syria.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s comments came ahead of a meeting with Kofi Annan, the United Nations and Arab League envoy for Syria whose plan for halting the fighting is weakening amid escalating violence.

The council is debating a new resolution on Syria, spurred by the July 20 expiration of the mandate for the U.N. observer force there and the failure of the Annan plan.

Militarization of the US foreign policy on global scale is an obvious fact. It concerns Latin America as much as it concerns other parts of the world. The US State Department does not show its usual “departmental” jealousy with regard to the increased military and diplomatic activities of the US South Command (US Southcom). This is the strategic course and it is not going to change in the near future. That is why there is no need to wonder why the generals, who have been heading Southcom in the last ten years, were regarded by people of Latin America as the key conductors of Washington’s policy. The latest of them, General-Lieutenant Douglas Fraser is about to accomplish his mission on the continent and will soon be replaced by John Kelly, the general who fought in Iraq and other flashpoints.

Southcom is intensively upgrading its infrastructure in Latin America which comprises airdromes, ports, communication centers and residential complexes in which additional military contingents can be accommodated. The new command center, which ensures control over the regional military bases with the use of advanced technologies, has been built in the city of Doral (Miami, Florida). It envisages even a possibility of nuclear missile attack that is why the underground stores of the building are protected by concrete and steel. Everything tells us that Pentagon is preparing to the radical worsening of the operational situation in the Western hemisphere. Analysts estimate, that such a development of the situation is more than likely if the US and Israel try to use force to solve the issue of “neutralization” of Iran’s hypothetic nuclear weapon.

Ynetnews reported in their article, “US operated deep in Iran, trained assassins,” that, “the New Yorker reported over the weekend that the US trained members of the Iranian opposition group Mujahideen-e-Khalq. According to previous reports, Israel has been cooperating with the group, which allegedly carried out hits on Iranian nuclear scientists.” Ynetnews also reported that US officials doubt Iran is or will be developing nuclear weapons, as has been claimed to justify years of sanctions, covert subversion, terrorism, and unprovoked attacks by the West against Iran.

The latest hit piece on Iran came out earlier this week saying since 2005, 13 people associated with the Iranian government were seen and detained for“taking pictures of New York city landmarks.”

Mitchell Silber, the NYPD’s director of intelligence analysis, told Congress that New York’s international significance as a terror target and its large Jewish population make the city a likely place for Iran and Hezbollah to strike.

So let me get this straight. 13 people, in 7 years, taking photos of New York landmarks. It’s obvious that Iran is planning something big! Six of them were stopped on, gasp! choke! wait for it…………SIGHT SEEING CRUISES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you look at the story linked, the second to last paragraph in that article says,

“In January, James Clapper, the top U.S. intelligence official, said some Iranian officials are probably “more willing to conduct an attack in the United States in response to real or perceived U.S. actions that threaten the regime.”

But my favorite part is the last sentence,

But government officials have said there are no known or specific threats indicating Iranian plans to attack inside the U.S.

So remember people, Iran is “more willing to conduct an attack in response to real or perceived U.S. actions that threaten them.”, but there are also no known threats indicating Iran. will. attack. America.

Be afraid my sheep, be very afraid!

The UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan has urged the UN Security Council to break the political deadlock on Syria. He said ‘unity over the crisis will help his peace mission’ – comments he made during his briefing to the body about his findings following his recent visit to Damascus. William F. Non-governmental organizations are an increasingly important part of the 21st century international lanscape performing a variety of humanitarian tasks pertaining inter alia to issues of poverty, the environment and civil libertites. However, there is a dark side to NGOs. They have been and are currently being used as tools of foreign policy, specifically with the United States. Instead of using purely military force, the US has now moved to using NGOs as tools in its foreign policy implementation, specifically the National Endowment for Democracy, Freedom House, and Amnesty International.
